| 08/07/2006 The Ford Focus was comfortably the most popular car in the UK last month, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. 10,654 examples were registered, compared with 8408 for the Vauxhall Astra, 5814 for the Ford Fiesta and 4706 for the Vauxhall Corsa. In the same order, these four have also achieved the highest registrations in the UK for the year so far. In July the Renault Megane slipped behind the Volkswagen Golf and Renault Clio, but year-to-date it's still ahead of them. No changes in the lower reaches of the top ten, where it's still Ford Mondeo followed by Vauxhall Zafira and Vauxhall Vectra.
